US to ban TikTok & WeChat


 

From this Sunday, 20 September, WeChat will not be available for money transfer and for other purposes in America. There are news that it will be permanently banned from US. Same is for TikTok, but from 12 November. US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said about TikTok that it will be available if certain safeguards are put into place.

US is not going to force their citizens to remove the tiktok but they won’t be able to update the app. This indirectly will make it obsolete after certain time.

There are many opportunities arising for national developers to introduce some new idea for social plate farm.    

 At the president’s direction, we have taken significant action to combat China’s malicious collection of American citizens’ personal data, while promoting our national values, democratic rules-based norms, and aggressive enforcement of US laws and regulations,” he said in a statement.

The department said the actions will “protect users in the US by eliminating access to these applications and significantly reducing their functionality.”

The US government said its order, will “combat China’s malicious collection of American citizens’ personal data”.
